Spanish wind turbines receive certification in China

Chinese institute (CEPRI) gives go-ahead to Gamesa’s 2MW turbines with 4.5MW machines to follow

The certified turbines will help Gamesa move its wind turbines into the Chinese market

A Chinese institute has certified a series of 2MW turbines developed in Spain. China Electricity Power Research Institute (CEPRI) has given certification to Spanish firm Gamesa’s G8X-2.0 MW and G9X-2.0MW wind turbines.

The 2MW wind turbines, including G80, G87, G90, G97 and G87 CS, have all been successfully tested in Spain and received certificates from CEPRI, Gamesa has confirmed. The company’s 4.5MW wind turbines are expected to receive their certification in China by October after completing a series of tests in Spain.
The CEPRI certification is set to boost Gamesa’s profile in China and help the company establish business in the BRIC country’s wind sector.

“It will definitely help Gamesa to further develop the market for this type of machine in China,” the firm said.
