JA Solar said the rooftop projects will use what the company claims are some of the most power solar modules on the market

Chinese module manufacturer JA Solar has announced it has signed agreements to supply a total of 70MW of PV for rooftop projects in China. JA Solar will supply high-efficiency polycrystalline solar modules to Shanghai CSET Co, a PV system integrator focused on the planning, design and operation of solar PV stations, for two commercial rooftop projects in the BRIC country.

The news follows JA Solar announcing in September it will supply solar modules for the world's largest hybrid hydro-PV power plant.

According to the agreements, 20MW of solar modules will be delivered in December 2013, and 50MW will be delivered in the first quarter of 2014. The projects will utilise JA Solar's high-efficiency polycrystalline modules with an average power output of between 255W and 260W in a 60-cell format. JA Solar claims the solar modules are among the most powerful of their kind on the market.

Mr Baofang Jin, executive chairman and CEO of JA Solar, said: "This agreement is another sign of improving industry fundamentals and strong demand from the China market, which is expected to continue to grow rapidly in the next few years. JA Solar's superior product offerings and our strong relationships with project developers in China ensure we are well positioned to benefit from this growth."
