Chinese tech to boost UK solar market

JA Solar to supply 47 MW of solar products to the UK’s PV installer

JA Solar will supply solar modules for UK’s rooftop installations

A Chinese solar manufacturer will supply 47 MW of high-efficiency crystalline solar modules to a UK firm as part of one of its largest UK deals to date, it emerged on Tuesday. Shanghai’s JA Solar Holdings entered into the agreement with Yorkshire-based solar power company, A Shade Greener (ASG). JA Solar will ship the products in August.

“ASG's unique business model is driving real growth in the UK installation market and we're pleased to partner with them to support their development,” said Dr. Peng Fang, CEO of JA Solar.

Stewart Davies, chairman of ASG said: “We aim to provide our customers with unrivalled product quality and reliability, which is why it's so important that we select the right manufacturing partners to work with”.

In April, Chinese solar cell and module manufacturer, China Sunergy, signed a 31 MW solar module supply agreement with Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of European solar distributor and project developer SUNfarming Group to boost solar projects in Germany.
