Chinese and Finnish firms sign PV technology pact

Demand for CBS is expected to soar towards the end of 2013

A Finnish manufacturer will partner with a leading Chinese photovoltaic (PV) module maker to develop Conductive Back Sheets (CBS).

Cencorp Corporation (Cencorp) has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a Chinese photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturer worth a minimum of EUR 20 million over the next three years.

Components will be manufactured at Cencorp's plant in Beijing which is expected to meet the growing demand forecast towards the end of the year.

The global CBS market is expected to grow into billions of Euros by 2020.

The parties also agreed to jointly develop and market products in the field of solar modules production and related technologies.

Cencorp is negotiating with several other major PV module manufacturers
and their customers.
